Here’s another early literacy tip from our local library story time!
Reading to your baby exposes them to 3 times as many uncommon words as your baby would otherwise hear in every day conversation or television (which isn’t recommended before 2 years of age, anyhow.) So, reading to your child is very important for their early vocabulary development and can’t be replaced by other forms of verbal stimulation.
I think you’ll see, if you start reading to your child at a young age, they’ll come to love it. Madeleine knows how to turn the pages and loves to help! She also loves to feel the textures in the books with textures. 😀
