Chemo Round Two

I thought we would still be in the hospital tonight, but Madeleine did so well with the chemo that they discharged us this evening around 5pm. This was both a YAY moment and a “holy cow! Me, at home, with the baby after chemo?? EEEK”  moment.

We checked in at about 7:15am and they started right away with her IV fluids. She then got her Dex (steroid) in a larger dose because of the chemo and a huge dose of Zofran (for nausea). After that she received 3 different kinds of chemo and mesna (to protect her bladder) every several hours. We were all done with everything by 4:30 and were discharged at 5!

She has handled everything like a champ. Unfortunately she did not nap well, but I sort of expected that to happen. We had a couple of cry-fests where I’m not sure what was wrong, but I eventually got her to calm down.

So, for now, a couple of cute photos from our hospital stay. I will be so glad when her face is no longer so bloated. Poor baby 😦

Baby girl finally fell asleep for a nap. Phew!

YAY! Food!!

It's a tongue!

And to cap it all off, a video of her playing with her Sophie, but was so tired  she almost fell asleep mid-play!

Oh yay! I’m so glad she did so well! I was thinking about you guys today and was hoping that the chemo would go well. I will continue to hope your night and the immediate days ahead are good as well. She looks so adorable with her tongue sticking out in that last one. 🙂

Glad I was able to stop by and see you all! She was so happy, I would have never guessed she’d just had chemo! What a sweet baby girl.
