It is with a heavy heart…

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this post. In fact, I have debated for the last 5 days whether I should or not.

Last week a very dear friend of mine got the news that her beloved husband laid down his life for our country while serving with the Marine Corps in Afghanistan.

Marine Staff Sergeant Thomas J Dudley, known as T.J. to family and friends, leaves behind his wife and 3 children – along with an amazing legacy as one of our country’s finest.

A memorial page has been made for T.J. on Facebook here.

TJ, thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice so that the rest of us may live free.

To Mary and the kids: We love you. We are here for you – no matter what. You are in our thoughts and on our minds constantly and we will be thinking of you tomorrow as you lay your dear husband to rest.

Sometimes we go about our daily lives and don’t think about these kinds of sacrifices that are made every day by our service men and women and their families. Without men like T.J. who serve our country so bravely, we would not live in a country where we can enjoy the freedoms that we do.

So, thank you T.J., Mary, Taylor, Carter, Jenna and family. We know that your family has suffered an immense loss – and for that you have our deepest sympathies and condolences. We are forever grateful for your service to our country.

  1. đŸ˜¦ From a family who has lost one to war’s terrible sacrifice, I know how weird it is to feel that deep sadness and intense pride at the same time. Thoughts are with their family – thanks for sharing with your blog “family”
